What is the Suddenly Slimmer Program?

The Suddenly Slimmer Program uses three phases over a period of 25-50 days. Utilizing caloric restriction and healthy foods in conjunction with vitamin and nutritional supplements, this program allows most patients to successfully lose 3-5 pounds a week and trains the mind and body to keep it off after the diet is complete.

The first phase includes the first two days of the program. During this portion, patients are asked to eat 50 percent more than usual, and to eat mostly carbohydrates such as bread and pasta. This “carb-loading” prepares the body for the caloric restriction later on. Supplements are also started as a way to complement the diet and keep the body motivated.
This part of the Suddenly Slimmer program extends from day three through the rest of the program. This is the most challenging phase, as it asks patients to eat six times a day but only from a list of specific foods. Foods outside of the program are avoided, and the supplements are increased and taken at different intervals throughout the day.
The last phase of the program is the stabilization phase, and begins either 21 days after the program has begun or after Phase 2. During Phase Three, foods outside of the program are slowly introduced back in, and caloric intake is increased but no starches or sugars are consumed. This way, patients can phase out of the program and maintain their new weight. After the program’s completion, patients should aim to stay within two pounds of their goal weight.
